Jalen Lattrel Ramsey was born on October 24, 1994, in Smyrna, Tennessee, U.S. He attended Brentwood Academy High School in Brentwood, Tennessee, where he was a two-sport star in football and track & field.
College Career
Ramsey joined Florida State University and played college football for the Seminoles from 2013-2015.
As a freshman in 2013, Ramsey started all 14 games for the Florida State Seminoles and recorded 49 tackles, one interception, and one sack. He became the BCS national champion in 2013. He was selected to the First-team All-ACC 2 times in 2014 and 2015.
Professional Career
Jalen Ramsey was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round with the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was the highest cornerback selected in the draft.
In his rookie season in 2016, he finished the season with 65 combined tackles (55 solo), 14 pass deflections, two interceptions, and a touchdown in 16 games and 16 starts. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team. With the Jaguars, Ramsey quickly became one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL.
In the 2021 season, he completed the 2021 regular season with 77 tackles and four interceptions. Ramsey and the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl 23–20, earning Ramsey’s first career Super Bowl championship. In the Super Bowl, Ramsey had four total tackles and one pass defended.
