DeMeco Ryans was born on July 28, 1984, in Bessemer, Alabama, U.S. He attended Jess Lanier High School in Bessemer and played high school football as a linebacker.
Playing Career
Ryans joined the University of Alabama and played college football for the Crimson Tide from 2002-2005. He was recognized as a unanimous All-American in 2005 and also received the Lott Trophy.
DeMeco Ryans was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round with the 33rd overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. He has played 6 seasons for the Texans from 2006-2011 and 4 seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2012-2015.
