Playing Career

Ryans joined the University of Alabama and played college football for the Crimson Tide from 2002-2005. He was recognized as a unanimous All-American in 2005 and also received the Lott Trophy.

DeMeco Ryans was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round with the 33rd overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. He has played 6 seasons for the Texans from 2006-2011 and 4 seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2012-2015.

In his rookie season in 2006, Ryans recorded 156 combined tackles (126 solo), 3.5 sacks, and 5 pass deflections. He was named the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. Ryans was also named to the NFL All-Rookie Team.
