College Career

Ekeler joined Western Colorado and played college football for the Mountaineers from 2013-2016.

As a freshman in 2013, he played in nine games and recorded 1,049 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He was awarded the RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year. He was a four-time First-team All-RMAC (2013–2016).
