Cleveland Browns went 7-10 in last year’s NFL regular season, finishing at the bottom of the AFC North. This will be the full season for the Browns’ first-string quarterback Deshaun Watson. He served an 11-game suspension last year.
The Browns went 3-3 last season with QB Watson starting. He posted a 7-5 TD-Int ratio.
Similarly, the New York Jets finished at the bottom of the AFC East with a 7-10 record last season. It’s the first chance for the Jets fans to see veteran star QB Aaron Rodgers who signed with the Jets in the off-season.
Rodgers took a huge pay cut which allowed the New York Jets to have much more flexibility and a balanced squad. However, it’s highly unlikely Rodgers will be featured in any preseason games, as the starting quarterbacks usually don’t. Rodgers played his last preseason game in 2018. Jets coach Robert Saleh has already said that starters will not play.
So is the case for the Cleveland Browns. Reportedly, QB Kellen Mond will play in the first half and the rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Ronbinson will play in the second half, as both the quarterbacks are set to make their Browns debut.
Moreover, a number of rookies, including wide receiver Cedric Tillman will play their first game in the Browns’ uniform. Cleveland will also be playing with their new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
