Fantasy Matchups Week 6: Avoid These RBs
Breece Hall vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Breece Hall always has the chance to break wide open a long run, but playing against the Philadelphia Eagles this week, that chance is smaller than usual. The Eagles allow the least yards to opposing RBs and the second most attempts to opposing RBs. In addition, the Eagles should be ahead early and often, so the Jets will probably have to throw to try to keep up.
Hall is RB20 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings this week, but if you have a better option, I would take it.
Dameon Pierce vs. New Orleans Saints
Dameon Pierce managers have been longing for that big breakout game, and they might have to wait a little longer. Pierce is currently the RB24, and he has gotten there mainly through volume, as he has been averaging almost 17 carries a game. He has only managed an average 2.9 YPA, which is 45th for RBs with at least 20 carries.

Now Pierce faces a New Orleans defense that has allowed the eighth fewest rushing yards per game. Expect rookie C.J. Stroud to continue to excel as Houston attacks New Orleans through the air and bench Pierce if you can. Pierce is RB25 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings.
Jerome Ford vs. San Francisco 49ers
Sure, Jerome Ford has been better than we thought he would be — he has two finishes in the top 10 this season and will no doubt come out of this bye week with fresh legs. Unfortunately, the Browns face the Niners, and even the freshest of legs have problems against them. San Francisco has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards to their opponent in 2023, which makes Ford a scary start.
QB Deshaun Watson has been ruled out of Sunday’s game, and PJ Walker will make the start, so it is hard to believe that the Browns will lead with the passing game. The Niners will know where the ball is going. Ford is RB23 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings for Week 6.
