New York Giants lost against Philadelphia Eagles, they got defeated by a big margin of 38-7, in the NFC divisional round match, held on Saturday. The Eagles will face the Dallas Cowboys or San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship tournament.
The popular quarterback of the Eagles, Jalen Hurts was seen completely fine during the match even though there were reports that he had injuries on the right shoulder. He threw two touchdown passes and kept running for the score which lead to a dominant first half for the Eagles.
Jalen ran for 154 yards, completed 16 out of 24 passes, made a massive pass in the second half of the game, and outpassed DeVonta Smith for about 40-yard reception. He had two scores through the air pass and the other one with rushing, in the first half of the match. By that time, he managed to complete 12 yards to a touchdown pass to Smith. The 24-year-old successfully managed to get a 28-0 lead for his team.
During the match’s first quarter, it was fourteen-nil and the Eagles were already at a great pace. The running back of team Eagles, Boston Scott, made an enormous record of 11 touchdowns against the Giants, giving the Eagles an upper hand of 21-0.
On the other side, Giants were seen distracted from the very beginning of the game. Though Matthew John Breida, the football running back of the Giants, had an eight-yard touchdown run during the third quarter, he ran six times for 24 yards and quarterback Daniel Jones completed 15 out of 27 passes for 135 yards. That’s when the Giants managed to put up some score on the board.
Their performance was not like a powerful team, in fact, it would be hard to believe that they recently won against Minnesota Vikings by a margin of 31-24. Only two of their players had more than one reception during the match. Super Bowl fans are even saying that Giants made a completely disappointing end to the season, the fans of the team Giants are even saying that whatever happened on Saturday night’s match was no less than a nightmare.
As per reports, Daniel Jones made the first playoff appearance of his career and got the victory against the Vikings during the wild-card round. He has got high-rated statistics of 64 percent successful passes for 3205 yards, five interceptions, and 15 touchdowns in 2022.
Though the Giant’s Coach, Brian Daboll refused to answer any question about Jones. Also, it is still not confirmed whether Jones will be re-signed or whether there will be a new quarterback to replace him. Reportedly, Daboll remarked about Jones and praised him saying that Jones had made consistent progress since he joined the team. He also added that he was not surprised by Jones’s improving performance.
The season finally ended for the New York Giants, and as per fans, this could not have been much worse for the New York Giants. But Daniel Jones is still optimistic and said that even with the big loss, their fans would remain hopeful for their future matches.
