The TE’s had themselves a field day last week on National Tight Ends Day, and some may have played a little too hard, as there are several fantasy-relevant players with injuries hanging about as we head into Week 8. What is the latest injury news regarding Darren Waller, Taysom Hill, and Luke Musgrave?

Latest Fantasy Injuries Week 8

Darren Waller, TE, New York Giants

Darren Waller has started coming into his own lately, possibly due to Tyrod Taylor being under center. Waller was limited in practice Wednesday through Friday, but it is reported that he should be good to go this weekend against the Jets in the battle of New York.

Waller was TE3 last week and is TE8 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings this week. If he has a setback and is unable to play, expect more passes to go the way of rookie Jalin Hyatt, who has started to show off his talent lately.

Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints

The Saints have finally figured out how to use Taysom Hill in the receiving game, and it has led to two top-10 fantasy finishes over the last two weeks. However, Hill has been dealing with a chest injury this week and has been practicing in a non-contact jersey all week. He has been listed as questionable heading into Sunday’s game against Indianapolis.

If Hill is unable to go, expect TE Juwan Johnson to step up. Johnson will return to the field this week after four games off due to a calf issue. Hill comes in at TE14 in PFN’s Consensus Rankings.

Luke Musgrave, TE, Green Bay Packers

Luke Musgrave left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter after sustaining an ankle injury. He was seen after the game in a walking boot and did not practice this week until Friday. Head coach Matt LaFleur has listed Musgrave as questionable for Week 8 against Minnesota and said, “He’s one tough sucker.”

Musgrave should be a game-time decision, so make sure to have a pivot option available. A good pivot could be Green Bay’s other TE, Tucker Kraft, who played every offensive snap once Musgrave left the game last week. Musgrave is PFN’s TE20 this week.
